MANAGER Mark Hughes was delighted to see Rovers get a share of the spoils and make it eight games unbeaten with a point against Liverpool at Ewood Park.
The game may have ended goalless but it was entertaining fare served up by two teams eager to climb higher in the league table.
Speaking after the game, the manager said: "We are delighted, we've gone up against another top four side and we are still unbeaten against them, we've kept our run going and we are very happy.
"I think we had a real foothold in the game and created a number of chances that we were a bit unlucky with.
"David Bentley was clean through, David Dunn great shot that hit the underside of the bar and a decent call for a penalty by all accounts. I've not seen it since but you can usually tell by the reaction of the players if they think it is a genuine claim."
With injuries starting to have their effect Rovers were only able to make three changes from the side that had defeated Portsmouth in midweek, whilst Liverpool's richly assembled squad were able to make eight changes and towards the end of the game it showed.
"It wasn't until the last ten minutes or so when we faded a little bit, which was understandable as we had a lot of guys that played a very difficult game in midweek," added Hughes. "They had eight players who didn't play in midweek and that showed towards the end of the game which was understandable.
"But you know sides such as Liverpool will always created chance because they have quality in their side. Steven Gerrard caused us problems by having a free role, but their a good side and we matched them for long periods in the game and overall I thought a draw was a fair result.
"I just thought it was a very good Premier League game, with two good sides on show with a lot of commitment and no little skill."
The 30,033 attendance was the highest crowd seen at Ewood Park for almost five years and Mark Hughes had a word of praise for the home side's support.
"It was a fantastic crowd today, a great atmosphere and we'd love to play in front of thirty thousand every time at Ewood, but we know it is unrealistic possibly to expect that.
"But it made such a difference to the players and you could tell they were really up for it today."
